How can recipients opt-out of receiving SMS messages

When someone no longer wants to receive promotional SMS messages, they can reply with “STOP” to unsubscribe. This action is known as an opt‑out.

Supporting it is essential for meeting global anti‑spam requirements.

Here are a few FAQs regarding Opt-Outs

1.     What is required to enable a ‘STOP’ message so recipients can prevent future SMS                  from being sent to a contact group?

Opt‑out handling is automatically supported for all SMS sent through CLiX.                                   Recipients can unsubscribe at any time by replying “STOP” via SMS.

To receive these, opt‑out replies, the outbound SMS must be sent from a virtual number or       shared number. The initial message should also clearly inform recipients of their opt‑out         option.

Example: “Reply STOP to opt out.”

3.        Do all recipients who receive an SMS through CLiX have the ability to send a ‘STOP’                 reply?

Yes, provided the SMS was sent using a virtual number or shared number.

4.        Is the ‘STOP’ reply case‑sensitive?

           No.

5.        Is a contact who opts out automatically added to the opt‑out list?

            Yes.

6.        Do we receive updates on which recipients have replied with a ‘STOP’ opt‑out                             message?

Yes. All incoming replies can be viewed in the Incoming Reports section, and the list of              opted‑out recipients is available in the Opt‑out section.

7.        Is the opt‑out service included in the service fees?

Yes, automatic opt‑out management is provided at no additional cost.
